Everyone has there own tastes......I personally love my Male assassin's Ancient armor....but i usually stick with the Vabbi on him.....My dervish wears Primeval and i also really like that armor...so in the end its what you like not what everyone else likes

ive always thought most of them look really bad, the only real good one i think is the primevel for Dervish. Otherwise I think the overused Male Warrior Primevel is terrible looking.

When you say 'most Vabbian armour', surely you're not talking about female Paragon. That one is absolutely gorgeous.
Male Paragons look ridiculous in any armor of course.

I have Vabbian and Primeval armour on my female Ele, my personal preference being the Vabbian.
And to the OP, If my Ele did have a fight with a windmill, then she certainly won!

Obviously you've never seen the Mesmer set. But of course I don't expect anyone to care about the Mesmer set. It looks great, IMO it's the best armor set for a male Mesmer.

I love Dervish Ancient - it's understated, but cool. The Primeval one looks pretty good, but I prefer the hanging blades to the carcases.
I can't believe people pay money for Primeval Ranger, but Ancient Ranger is great. It's a shame that it shares the trend of most ranger armours - by having a load of junk or roadkill on the shoulder. I'd like something more sleek, like Obsidian, but without the price tag.
Ancient Assassin, I caved and went for, because I wanted an inscribable armour and couldn't afford Vabbi. It grows on you, but the blades are too much. It's a shame they don't offer alternatives within a style. I doubt it would have been too much work for the art team to produce a bladeless version and I do love the underlying design (the cloth bandage stuff looks cool).
Next I'm going for Ele Primeval and probably Ancient too, then Necro Primeval. Overall, I'd say I like about 70-80% of the Ancient and 50-60% of the Primeval designs.

This actually made me laugh out loud.
I'm seriously considering making a male Rit, get him ancient armor, and give him a name something along the lines of "The Mummy Returns"
But I'm not very fond of the NF armors either.. Some are okay, but most are just wrong..

I have Monk Primeval and I love it. I Dyed it black and it's dead sexy!
Ele Primeval is quite bad IMO
War Primeval is one of the best war armors in the game
Rangers Primeval - Decent
Ass Primeval - A little to "bladed" IMO
Derv Primeval - meh
Paragon Primeval - I dig it
Mes Primeval - havent seen any mes armor that I think looks cool - they all look like bad stage actors
Rit - meh
Necro - not to shabby

Allow me to force my opinion upon you
Since we're talking about Vabbian onwards, lets take a look shall we?
Warrior Vabbian: It's 15k Glads with more clothing, I like it.
Warrior Ancient: It's ascended Istani Armour. Don't believe me? Go look at both sets and compare them. Also very nice + combos well with Istani in certain dye combos.
Warrior Primeval: Finally, a suit of 'heavy armour' that looks different!
Ranger Vabbian: I'm middling on this one. Female top is quite nice.
Ranger Ancient: Trenchcoats Are Win.
Ranger Primeval: Eh, not bad, esp the female one
Ele Vabbian: Hmmm, well, I like it better than anything you can get before it.
Ele Ancient: Gloves, Leggings and Boots = Best thing Anet have ever given Eles.
Ele Primeval: Looks like that Necro Tormentors Armour from prophecies. Still, cool.
Necro Vabbian: Silly
Necro Ancient: Very Silly
Necro Primeval: Wet Fish Silly (IMO Prophecies beats the other campaigns hands down for Necro armour.)
Mesmer Vabbian: Every bit as glamorous as it should be.
Mesmer Ancient: Hmmm, not sure about this one.
Mesmer Primeval: This one's quite inspired, if you ask me
Monk Vabbian: Meh IMO
Monk Ancient: Wow, an ascended version of Tyrian. It's gorgeous too.
Monk Primeval: For a profession that is supposed to embody purity, this is a strange. Still, I suppose if you went to hell and back you might end up looking like this...
Assassin Vabbian: Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a...
Assassin Ancient: The leggings are ninja
Ritualist Vabbian: Hmm, how is this any different from all the markedly superior armours in factions?
Ritualist Ancient: MUMMIES! *drool*
But Obsidian for Rits still wins.
Paragon Vabbian: Best looking of the para armours imo.
Paragon Ancient: Just doesn't stand out.
Paragon Primeval: + Ceremonial Spear + Forgotten Shield + Black = Win
Dervish Vabbian: M-E-H, not another skimpy outfit... (Dont call me a hypocrite for liking warrior vabbian either - thats extremely well done.)
Dervish Ancient: Nice and Simple. Also awesome Egyptian-esque male hood.
Dervish Primeval: Bones can be beautiful too.
Ok, so out of all the sets across all the professions, I can say I like about 20 of them. Of the 8 remaining sets, I'm not gonna pull anyone up for wearing them and if someone wants to wear something that is understated or just plain weird, then that's their choice. I guess the moral of the story is that even if there are things you don't like, it doesn't mean that nobody does and you should be critical of people who do like them. Anyway, peace.

I personally don't like any of the primeval sets. The male warrior set is seen on half the warriors in the game, and I can't bring myself to like it. Some of the ancient and 15k sunspear is alright. Some of the 15k sunspear sets have such minor differences compared to the cheaper version that it almost feels like a ripoff, examples being the whole male paragon set and the arms, legs, and boots of the male warrior.

primeval
adj.
Belonging to the first or earliest age or ages; original or ancient
------------------
What are themes we see in Primeval armor? Bones, spikes, fossils, very primitive, very organic shapes....
What are themes we see in Ancient armor? I see Ancient as Egyptian-themed you see scarabs, mummy style wrapping, egyptian style markings on the Paragon armor, egyptian style markings on the Dervish robes, I dont think i need to say the warrior armor is EXODIA from Yu-Gi-Oh! (egyptian themed as well)
---------
That being said, if you dont like the theme, theres really no one forcing you to buy it o.O
